Designed by renowned naval architect Bruce Farr and introduced in 1997, the First 40.7 quickly gained a reputation as both a competitive racer and a capable cruiser. With over 700 built between 1997 and 2008, this model has become a favourite among serious sailors worldwide. Abraxas herself is a testament to this legacy. She has crossed oceans, having completed the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers), and has also been raced by her experienced owner. Well-maintained and in excellent condition, Abraxas recently had her keel re-bonded and continues to impress both on the racecourse and during leisurely cruises. Sailing and Performance Abraxas features slab reefing on the mainsail and a furling Genoa, offering a responsive and manageable sailing experience. She is rigged as a fractional sloop – ideal for balance, control, and performance in a variety of wind conditions.
