Effective 31 August 2026. This notice covers the public website, authenticated professional workspaces and approved API access.

Privacy and data-rights requests may be sent to info@private-charter.com. A customer organisation may act as controller for broker-client or employee data it enters; Private Charter may process that data on the organisation's instructions.
Information we process
Professional identity, contact, organisation, role and verification details; authentication and security events; subscription and payment status; support correspondence; broker clients, briefs and private notes entered by authorised users; yacht, representative, source, rights, rate, calendar and listing information; proposals, availability requests, deal and audit records; API credentials and request logs; and device, browser, IP, referral and diagnostic information needed to operate and secure the service.
Sources
Information comes from users and their organisations, authorised fleet representatives, submitted yacht links and documents, licensed imports, payment and authentication providers, support interactions, and technical use of the website or API. Public professional information may be reviewed for identity, source and data-quality purposes.
Why we process information
We process information to create and secure accounts; provide the broker, fleet, billing and API services; organise and verify yacht information; route professional requests; create proposals and audit history; process subscriptions; answer support and rights requests; detect abuse; maintain service performance; comply with law; and improve the product using aggregated or appropriately protected analysis.
Legal bases
Depending on the person and jurisdiction, processing may be necessary to perform a contract or take requested pre-contract steps, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing a professional service, comply with legal obligations, or act on consent where consent is the appropriate basis. An organisation entering client information is responsible for having an appropriate basis and providing required notices.
Broker-client confidentiality
Client names, contact details, preferences, briefs, proposal activity, private notes and internal commercial judgement are scoped to the authorised brokerage workspace. Fleet-side users receive only information required for a structured professional request unless the broker deliberately shares more. Private Charter does not publish broker-client data in the public knowledge centre or yacht catalogue.
Yacht, representative and source information
Published or professionally distributed yacht facts, images, rates and representative details may be made available according to listing permissions and source rights. Provenance, source documents, correction history and rights evidence may be retained to distinguish authorised facts from imports, private observations and disputed claims.
Decision support and AI-assisted processing
The platform may structure source material, extract a brief, rank yachts or flag missing information. These functions support professional review; they do not make a binding charter, credit, employment or similarly significant decision about an individual. Users can inspect inputs, warnings and source context and remain responsible for professional judgement.
Service providers and disclosures
Information may be processed by vetted providers for hosting, database, authentication, storage, email, payment, monitoring and support. Information may also be disclosed when requested by the user, required by law, necessary to protect rights and security, or involved in a genuine corporate transaction. Private Charter does not sell broker-client personal information or disclose it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
International processing
The platform and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, appropriate contractual or legal transfer mechanisms are used. Professional organisations remain responsible for any additional transfer requirements that apply to data they choose to enter.
Retention
Account and workspace data is retained while the organisation uses the service and afterward as reasonably needed for contractual records, security, auditability, disputes, legal obligations and controlled deletion. Source-rights and transaction evidence may require longer retention. Authentication logs, support records and backups follow operational retention schedules and are deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.
Security
Controls include encrypted transport, managed authentication, optional or risk-based higher-assurance authentication, organisation-scoped access, database row-level security, private storage for submitted documents, secret management, security logging and least-privilege administrative access. No system is perfectly secure; suspected account or data compromise should be reported promptly.
Cookies and local storage
Private Charter uses essential cookies and browser storage for authentication, security, preferences and application state. The current service does not require advertising cookies. If non-essential analytics or marketing technologies are introduced where consent is required, the relevant choice mechanism and notice will be updated.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, a person may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection; withdraw consent where processing depends on consent; or complain to a competent authority. Rights can be limited by another person's rights, legal obligations, security and legitimate recordkeeping. We may verify identity and the relevant organisation before acting.
Children
Private Charter is a professional B2B service and is not directed to children. Professional users should not enter information about minors unless it is necessary for a legitimate charter brief, legally permitted and limited to what the authorised team needs.

This notice may change as the service, providers or law evolves. The page shows the current effective date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate service or account notice where required.
